Freya Riedlin is an artist and surface pattern designer based in Washington, D.C. Freya grew up playing at the foot of the Black Forest mountains in southwest Germany, where she devoured as many books as she could find.
Creative expression has always been an important part of Freya’s life, and growing up, she would paint on her clothes, bind her own books, embroider, make jewelry and any other craft she could get her hands on.
Freya draws on a vintage-inspired color palette for a design style that is both whimsical and sophisticated. She takes inspiration from her ever-growing collection of houseplants and the abundance of plants and patterns found in Washington. Freya loves to combine the wilderness of the natural world with the order of pattern designs to create artwork that is both joyful and relaxing.
